FARMING AND EASY KILLS
Raptor Teeth in the Wetlands

The trader in Menethil Harbor buys raptor teeth. Every evening I tip a bag of them onto his counter, he counts them with one finger and pays me in silver. The eggs I carry down from the same hills fetch less at the auction house, though everyone who talks about this farm talks about the eggs.
Why it pays
The Highland Raptor, the Highland Lashtail and the Highland Scytheclaw drop a Raptor Egg in three kills out of five and a Keen Raptor Tooth in one out of three. The tooth is grey junk, and a vendor pays 4s 45c for it. The egg sells for price unknown to cooks, who need it for Curiously Tasty Omelets and Forever's new Tasty Raptor Bites. Until an egg sells for more than about 2s 70c, the tooth pays more per kill than the egg. A Flecked Raptor Scale in one kill out of eleven adds 1s 68c at the vendor. Raptors carry no cloth. The Dragonmaw Raider at the Dragonmaw camp south of the hills drop Silk Cloth in one kill out of four, five times as often as the Mosshide Fenrunner gnolls, which give Wool Cloth instead.
What you need
Level 23 for the Highland Raptors, 25 for the Scytheclaws, 27 if you go on to the Razormaws. No group. Skinners get leather on top, which our data doesn't count.
Where
The hills in the north of the Wetlands, between Dun Modr and Direforge Hill and west from there. The Dark Iron dwarves in both places, the red dots, are elite and level 27 to 31. Most of the Highland Razormaw, level 27 and 28, live east of Direforge Hill, and Howin Kindfeather at the graveyard in the middle of the zone gives the Alliance a quest on them. The Alliance flies to Menethil Harbor and walks east. The Horde flies to Hammerfall and comes south over the bridge from Arathi.

- Enter the hills from the south-west and work east, staying south of Dun Modr.
- Take the raptors one at a time. Mosshide gnolls stand between them, so look before you pull.
- Sell teeth and scales to any vendor, eggs on the auction house.
- At 27, move east to the Razormaws. They drop an egg in three kills of four, fewer teeth, and a Curved Raptor Talon that a vendor buys for 6s 06c.
- A tailor can finish the evening at the Dragonmaw camp for Silk, one or two at a time. The travellers say they throw nets.
WHAT IT PAYS ON THE MARKET
No auction price for their loot yet.
Raptor Egg: 62 % of the kills, price unknown each
Keen Raptor Tooth: 35 % of the kills, price unknown each
Flecked Raptor Scale: 9.2 % of the kills, price unknown each
After the auction house's cut. Coin and rare drops are not counted.
What can go wrong
I walked into the Dark Iron camp on Direforge Hill at 24, looking for a short cut, and woke up at the graveyard. Egg prices swung a long way in the beta weeks, which is one more reason to count on the teeth. The gold an hour you hear about doesn't hold either. Five gold from Silk would take some 250 Dragonmaw kills an hour.
BASTIAN'S VERDICT Honest work for a vendor's silver. The teeth paid for a week at the inn in Menethil, and I've still got most of the eggs.
The rumours on this page
[Half right] Razor Maw, level 27-28, has about 28 spawn locations in the Wetlands; they drop raptor eggs and skinning gives medium to heavy leather.
Level 27 to 28 and an egg in 72 % of kills hold. The old spawn list counts 37 Razormaws, not 28, and our data has no skinning loot.

[Checked] Dragonmaw Raider, level 26 to 27, has a great drop chance for silk cloth.
Silk Cloth in 24 % of Dragonmaw Raider kills, five times the rate of the gnolls nearby.

[Checked] Moss hide fen runners in the Wetlands are level 22 to 23 and drop wool; there are about 45 of them.
Level 22 to 23 and Wool in a quarter of the kills. The old spawn list counts 43 of them.

[Did not hold] Silk can make up to five gold per hour at beta auction house prices.
At the video's own price of eight silver, five gold is 63 Silk. At one Silk in four kills that is some 250 Dragonmaw an hour.
