Barbaric Bracers

Darnassus or the Undercity / any level for the pattern / a blue for level 27 / alone

The leatherworking supplier in Darnassus sells salt, dye and thread, and now and then one pattern that half the town wants. I spend an afternoon beside the stall with three other people who are also not waiting for anything. Every few minutes one of us opens the list, reads it and closes it again. I buy a stack of Salt so nobody thinks I'm loitering, and when I leave at dusk the other three are still there.

Why it pays

The Pattern: Barbaric Bracers costs 20 silver at Saenorion in Darnassus and at Joseph Moore in the Undercity. Our data lists it as limited stock at both. On the auction house it sells for price unknown. You don't need Leatherworking to buy it, so anyone who passes either shop should open the list.

The bracers are the second half. Barbaric Bracers is a blue of item level 32 for level 27, and with the cap at 30 the travellers rate it close to the best a character can wear on the wrists. It sells for price unknown. The leather is the cheap part. The four Small Lustrous Pearl and four Large Fang cost more than all the leather together, because the fangs drop from beasts near level 30 in one kill out of sixteen at best, and the pearls from clams and from pirates in The Barrens in about one kill out of fifty.

What you need

Leatherworking 130 to learn it. Two of the parts need 150 to make. Heavy Leather comes from five Medium Leather, and Cured Heavy Hide from a Heavy Hide and three Salt, which the same supplier sells. Below 150 you buy those two. Raptor Hide is cheap and the auction house sells it for about what a vendor would pay.

How

1. Open the supplier's list every time you pass. A traveller says the pattern comes back every hour to hour and a half.
2. If you aren't a leatherworker, buy it and post it.
3. A leatherworker learns it and buys eight Heavy Leather, two Cured Heavy Hide, four pearls, one Raptor Hide and four fangs a pair.
4. Post two or three bracers at a time.

What can go wrong

Other people know the stall, and on the beta only a pattern or two sold a day on each market. The bracers will drop as more leatherworkers learn them. The same traveller found a vendor in Darkshore with Forever's new Azure patterns for leatherworkers and tailors, and says the shoulders cost a gold to make and sell for six more. Our data has the recipes, Azure Gustwoven Spaulders at Leatherworking 175 among them, but not who sells them. I went looking for a day in the rain and didn't find it.

BASTIAN'S VERDICT Check the supplier whenever you pass. The pattern is the cheapest gold in this chapter, and the bracers keep selling until the cap goes up.
